Statement
I Watched Myself Survive, is a meditation on dissociation, exploring what it means to inhabit a body when everything around you feels fractured. The project documents the quiet struggle—what remains when the external world fades—and transforms it into images that are intimate and deeply reflective of human presence.
Shot on 35mm film, these self-portraits investigate the fragility of the human experience, dwelling in a space between stillness and endurance. Through attentive composition and tonal nuance, the work examines how the body holds memory, trauma, and emotional survival. Influenced by the meditative stillness of cinema, my photographs use quiet gestures and shifts in light to evoke a contemplative tension, revealing resilience, vulnerability, and introspection.
