From sporting events to stylized portraits, digital or film, she uses her creative eye to bring captivating images to life.
Statement
I am a digital photographer and was excited to challenge myself by shooting solely on film. I was also excited to have such a meaningful message behind this body of work. In this work, I wanted to showcase the emotions that come along with having faith in a higher being, specifically God. In the end, there is a beauty in the ride of faith we endure when faced with adversities.
I can speak from personal experience as a believer, that it can be an emotional rollercoaster when you are trusting in a higher power to provide when you see no end in sight. It can start with a feeling of anxiety as your problem seems to have no solution. Then can come a feeling of isolation as you are so overwhelmed by your problem. This can lead to anger with God for having to endure these things. This anger can be followed by a feeling of surrender, in which we fully give our problem to God. This surrender can lead to a feeling of peace, as we accept the process and let go of all the negative emotions we have been feeling. Ultimately joy comes when the blessing has finally been received and God has made a way!
